about us

Peter Rough Landscape Architects and Tony Milne Landscape Architects have recently merged to become Rough & Milne Landscape Architects Christchurch.  Although the practice is based in Christchurch work is undertaken all over New Zealand and also in Australia.

Our clients include District and Regional Councils, government departments, institutions, infrastructure providers and a wide range of individual investors.

As project leaders or working collaboratively with a team of consultants, our combined years of experience underpins our reputation for innovation and excellence in master planning, integrated development and landscape design.  This has been acknowledged in our being successful in several landscape design competitions.

We are very experienced in the preparation of comprehensive and carefully researched landscape and visual assessments and appearing as expert witnesses at Council, Special Tribunal and Environment Court hearings. We also undertake peer reviews of other landscape architects’ landscape assessments.  As a firm we are committed to ongoing involvement in educational and professional development and teaching has become an integral part of our business practice.

Sustainability is a key issue and consistently applied to all aspects of landscape architecture that we practice.  In the wake of the recent earthquakes we also recognise the importance of resilience and flexibility to good design and are committed to these attributes being incorporated within all our projects.
