Peter Rough spent a month travelling around Iran. This included a circuit of central Iran encompassing Tehran, Shiraz, Eghlid, Yazd, Esfahan and Kashan. He saw some amazing desert landscape usually backed by the impressive Zagros Mountains. Peter visited some fascinating historic sites, stayed in a caravanserai, had a homestay in a small village and saw some very distinctive buildings and structures. The friendliness of the local people was amazing with many strangers coming up to him in the street, shaking hands and saying "welcome to my country" or " welcome to Iran".
