r+m's design responded to the house's highly defined architecture and shape. An off-the-form concrete spine that runs the length of the house and extends into the landscape provides the house substance and durability. The elegant outdoor layout is based on the interior living spaces.
Key features include a tree-lined driveway, outdoor kitchen, swimming and spa pools, and lawns and terraces which are engaging outdoor living spaces.
Custom seating, lighting, and water features are derived materially from the building and contribute to an original, creative landscape. The planting palette is subtle and restrained, yet bold and elegant, while the garden focuses on sculptural pieces.
This distinctive, modern residential property won the 2013 Supreme Award in the Master Builders House of the Year competition. The judges made particular mention of the ‘fantastic indoor-outdoor flow’ and ‘extensive outdoor living options’.
