In 2012 r+m were engaged to undertake a comprehensive analytical landscape design strategy for the school’s grounds. This addressed landscape character, existing vegetation, the functionality of the sports field and adjoining Headmaster's residence.
This landscape strategy included a long-term vision for the development of the School’s grounds, particularly addressing the existing mature trees and vegetation which contribute strongly to the school’s character.
The first stage of the redevelopment of the schools grounds included ‘The Medbury Green’ redevelopment. Following that r+m are undertaking further design and detailing of spaces for outdoor learning and interaction associated with new teaching blocks, entrance, stream enhancement and carparks.
History, landscape character and functionality inform a vision for the future of Medbury School’s grounds.
