Now semi-retired, Peter has more than 40 years’ experience as a landscape architect. Currently he concentrates on undertaking mentoring and peer review roles. His expertise lies in the preparation of assessments of landscape and visual effects.
He has presented expert evidence at numerous council hearings, in the Environment Court and before Boards of Enquiry and Special Tribunals on projects throughout New Zealand and in Australia.
Peter is particularly interested in renewable energy projects and sustainability through environmental design. Over the years he has held a number of roles with the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects, including terms on the Institute’s Executive Committee. Peter is a keen sailor and tramper. He races a trailer yacht on Lyttelton Harbour and cruises the Sounds and Southern Lakes.
