Gerrard joined r+m in 2014 after 15 years as an analyst in the finance sector. He’s committed to improving Christchurch’s urban layout. He envisages open green spaces, pedestrian-friendly zones in the city centre, safe and convenient cycle ways connecting neighbourhoods with popular amenities; and public sculpture throughout the city.
At r+m Gerrard works across residential and commercial projects and has a support role in landscape and visual assessments. He prepares landscape concept plans, detailed design and working drawings, and specification documents. He also has input into r+m's operations, helping streamline in-house processes and procedures. Gerrard is a Hagley Park Harrier and keen competitor in r+m social and sporting challenges, and is a keen mountain biker on the weekends.
Loves about his job: Friday morning teas, the range of work, staff outings and the office atmosphere. Having the opportunity to design meaningful and interesting landscapes, and ultimately see people enjoying them.
